Guidelines for oral presentations

General guidelines

 

  • Presentations must be prepared in PowerPoint.
  • Please use 16:9 format for your slides.
  • Presentations should be saved to an USB or other portable format and uploaded no later than the session before your presentation.
  • Please name your PowerPoint file using your last name, e.g. Smith.pptx.
  • If you have videos we strongly advise you upload and test your presentation well before your slot in the Programme.
  • Please introduce yourself to the chairperson in the break just before the session of your presentation.

 

Presentations Chosen from Submitted Abstracts: 15 minutes total duration

Please prepare your presentation for 12 minutes in order to allow 3 minutes for questions.

Presentations by Invited Speakers: 30 minutes total duration

Please prepare your presentation for 25 minutes in order to allow 5 minutes for questions. 

Presentations by Paul Callaghan Young Investigator Competition Finalists:  25 minutes total duration

Please make sure your presentation is no longer than 20 minutes in order to allow 5 minutes for questions (this is an important component of the evaluation).

Presentations by Educational Speakers: 1 hour total duration

Please prepare your presentation for 50 minutes in order to allow 10 minutes for questions.

Presentations by Plenary Speakers: 45 minutes total duration

Please prepare your presentation for 35 - 40 minutes in order to allow 5 - 10 minutes for questions.
